The images included in this portfolio are from a personal project I am currently working on entitled, "HouseWife." The images are of real housewives in their homes, dressed in their own clothes, surrounded by their own possessions. The project is an exploration of who inhabits this traditional role today. I have chosen to define a housewife as someone (man or woman) who is a spouse and works less then 40 hours per week for outside for income. Our greatest goal is to create understanding through these narrative portraits in order to instill a stronger sense of dignity to this divisive term that we, as a culture, claim to respect but rarely support.
